Most brilliant company idea for the open source community!

Three weeks ago, I've received an email from someone who was reporting a bug in my ftwin open source tool. The professionalism of its message was astonishing : He was including a reference number ("Report 001"), with two sections ("Steps to reproduce", "Possible Solution"), including a patch...
Of course, I've already been reported bugs in ftwin, but never under such a form, including test case and the whole fix! I decided to fix ASAP this issue, and submit a new version of this tool to freshmeat, then a new message came to my mailbox:
We have chosen your ftwin program as a test task subject for candidates
applying for QA engineer position in our company ([XXX]). Could
you please give us a favor to accumulate those bug reports and patches
without releasing new versions for a couple of weeks? It will give the
same chances for all applicants and you'll get a lot of bug reports.
This, is the most brilliant ideas for a test task subject I ever heard of. Both contributing to the open source and getting a clear view on QA capabilities of candidates ! I was a bit disappointed to learn that my tool was susceptible to have "a lot of" bugs, but I would hide my ego for a while, and I froze my source code until now.
Since then, I've received 3 valid bug reports, and I'm currently updating my little ftwin project.
A big "Thank You" to these guys! And don't hesitate, if you want to recruit a QA engineer, I believe this method is one of the best!
